Dummy DIY: "Pop of Color" Eyeshadow
For those of us who have no general concept of how to apply even the slightest amount of eyeshadow without looking like a racoon, the thought of adding a pop of color can be...intimidating. We’re here to break it down for you in just a few easy steps.
Steps:
1. Hannah has already applied the rest of her face makeup including concealer on her lids, serving as a makeshift primer for the eyeshadow. Using a fluffy brush, apply a light neutral shadow all over the lid up to the brow.
We used NYX’s Warm Neutral Palette
2. Using a more densely bristled brush, pack in your bright color across the lid and slightly above the lid line.
We used MAC’s Goldenrod Satin Eye Shadow
3. Take a big fluffy blending brush and blend, blend, BLEND! Upwards and back and forth.
Our current favorite blending brush is Sephora’s Pro Blending Brush #27
4. Taking an angled brush, apply your bright color underneath the lower lash line and soften with a fluffy brush.
5. Lightly reapply your light neutral or a highlighter underneath the arch of your brow to accentuate it.
6. Curl your lashes and apply mascara to top and bottom lashes. Optional: apply a winged liner first to get a more dramatic look.
We used Japonesque’s Go Curler with Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara
