DIY Trick: Make Your Own Tinted Moisturizer with SPF
Most of us can agree that as the weather warms up we feel less inclined to coat our faces with full coverage foundation. Who feels cute when their makeup is sliding off their face? With that in mind we decided to show you a helpful DIY Trick: Make Your Own Tinted Moisturizer with SPF.
You’ll Need
Daily Moisturizer
SPF 50 or higher (if not already in your moisturizer)
-Side Note: SPF is much more effective in protecting your skin if it’s not already combined in your moisturizer, we highly recommend using a seperate moisturizer and SPF
Full coverage foundation
Small clear jar or container
Small Spooly or something to mix with (optional)
Steps
Add a decent amount of your moisturizer to the jar. This will be the base for your Tinted Moisturizer. We used *Etude House Moistfull Collagen Emulsion. (It’s helpful if your moisturizer is white so that you can clearly see how diluted your foundation will be but not necessary)
Add a slightly smaller amount of SPF to the jar. We used the *Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk SPF 50. Most Korean brand SPFs have a watery texture and dry down quickly – a little goes a long way.
Next add your full coverage foundation. We used 5 pumps of the Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. You can add more or less depending on the coverage of your foundation. Since we are creating a Tinted Moisturizer we are not looking for full coverage but more of a soft blend that will even out skin tone.
Use your spooly or the back end of a brush to stir together your mixture. If you’re using a bottle you can give it a vigorous shake instead.
Check the consistency of your product and test it out on your wrist. We decided to thicken ours up a bit so we added a tad more moisturizer.
Apply on clean toned skin and go! Your daily routine just got a whole lot faster!
*Etude House is not 100% cruelty free because they sell to mainland China which requires animal testing.
